I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of

the Admiralty to transmit, for the information of the

Secretary of state, copy of a letter, with enclosure,

dated 1st January, from the Commander-in-Chief, China,

regarding the destruction of pirate launch "SHIU HING"

on 22nd December last.

▲ copy has also been sent to the Foreign

office.
